Hi y’all! Well, Sara and I are back home from the Country Living Fair. Now that we’ve had a chance to get a good night’s sleep, I want to start sharing our experience with you folks. Doing markets is a ton of work, but it’s the most fun work there is. (Well, to me anyway.)
Last Thursday, right as the sun came up, I put the last of our goods in the truck and headed east from Chicago to Columbus. (Click here to sing along.)
The main reason we got to go is because I’ve been a member of a fabulous outdoor adventure group for women called Sisters on the Fly for about 2 1/2 years. A big part of what unifies us is a love for vintage campers, though not a requirement to join. Some folks use tents, some use new RVs.
Several gals from the group were invited to act as ambassadors and showcase our little vintage campers.
(Uhm yes. I say yes. To all of it.)
At this point you may be asking, “Why aren’t there more pics of Sara? WHY??!” Well, there’s this:
See? That’s the face of a woman yelling threats of bodily harm to her business partner. “THIS BETTER NOT END UP ON THE INTERNET!”
There aren’t more pictures of Sara because she hates (hates) having her picture taken almost as much as having it posted to the web. In the grand scheme of things she hates far right wing anti-feminists only slightly more. (slightly)
But our setup was cute, so there’s that. We sold nearly all of it which makes us very happy.
Not lots of photos of day one mainly because we were getting the feel for the whole thing. It’s a huge show with lots to see. We’ll post more from day 2 tomorrow.
