This last weekend Dave and I went to the Northern Indiana Vintage Trailer Rally to do some filming for “Aluminitis: Our modern love of vintage trailers” and spend time with old & new friends. It’s true what they say, vintage camper folks are the nicest people in the world. I took a bunch of pictures of […]
I picked this shade made of silk tassels up a year ago with the intention of turning it into a ceiling fixture in our living room.
I found this fuel burning fireplace at an estate sale last summer. It’s been sitting in my garage waiting to be incorporated into our living room decor. So today I finally broke down and painted it in Old White Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan. Here’s the before & after. What do you think? BEFORE
My house is a mess. Stuff from the shop is everywhere. So for some peace of mind, Dave and I worked on bringing the living room back to life. I really enjoy the vintage home decor style in there. It’s not a professionally decorated room by any standards, but a mishmash of things we enjoy. […]

I just went over to Jackson Square and freshened things up a bit.
So it’s been 23 days since I closed the shop. Believe it or not my living room looked like this, too. I’ve just been sorting through it every day, bit by bit. Everything that belonged to anyone else was sitting on the shop counter neatly bundled and labeled. But not everyone got there to pick […]
I’m itching for a change in our living room. The decor is fairly boho. I like a mishmash of elements. Art from friends and travels, navy ikat drapes, vintage furniture mixed with modern.
Yesterday was Father’s Day, so I planned a trip to Vintage Garage Chicago for Dave because the theme was Vintage Vinyl. My hubby loves his old punk records and he never has time to go dig through the bins like he did when he was young and single, so I thought we’d make a trip […]
